The Dalestølen merino wool sweater is a sportier, lighter version of our classic Cortina 1956 sweater. Made of 100% skin soft merino wool, the Dalestølen features an updated version of the Cortina pattern and a high neck with a quarter zip.

History:
The pattern design is from our original 1956 Cortina sweater – our first ever Olympic sweater made for the 1956 Winter Olympics in Cortina d’Ampezzo. The Cortina pattern captures the very essence of Norwegian tradition and has become one of Norway’s most beloved patterns.

Dalestølen is named after a summer farm in the steep mountains surrounding Dale. In the old days, this farm served as summer pasture for cattle and sheep. Today, this is a popular destination for hiking as it offers great views over the mountainous Dale area.

Your Dale jumper is unique because it is characterised by Dale of Norway's long experience and rich Scandinavian history. The detailed Norwegian jumpers are made with a great deal of love and care. All production steps are carried out in the factory in the small town of Dale in the beautiful fjord landscape of western Norway - and have been since 1879. The result is a quality that is second to none.
Great importance is also attached to the use of environmentally friendly materials and processes, as the Norwegians are closely connected to nature. The small factory's energy comes from the surrounding waterfalls in the valley. The jumpers are made from 100% Norwegian wool or merino wool (see product information below) and only Oekotex 100 certified yarns are used. Despite the traditional production methods, the company uses modern patterns and cuts to give the classic Norwegian jumper a modern design.
