Occasionally we dive head-first into our fantastically rich archive (abundant with some jaw-dropping and even corny designs!). Every time we resurface a little wiser and a lot happier. One of our deep dives inspired us to make this fantastic big pattern sweater, a simultaneously fresh and retro piece of garment. The classic Norwegian eight-petal rose, the cross known from the Setesdal and Cortina pattern, the lice pattern, 100% wool, all merged into a tantalizingly fresh sweater. There is a note of both the 50s and the 60s in this sweater. The design elements are amplified, the colors are bold. The Vegard sweater is loud-and-proud. “Vegard” is a Norse masculine given name meaning both “protection” and “home”. A suitable name for a warm jacket strongly rooted in Norwegian design history.
